ARNOLD: Before I had the implants I had problems with missing teeth to the extent that I didn't have enough teeth that Dr. Martin could build a bridge on, and so the implants were provided for that purpose in both cases. There were certain areas of my mouth that I knew that if they showed you would see a funny looking gap, and therefore, if would smile guardedly. And also there were areas of my mouth that were totally inefficient for chewing.

I was more willing to smile as broadly as possible, and I could eat anything I wanted to without a second thought. I love implants. Without Dr. Martin's dental work I'm certain that I would not have the teeth that I have, the chewing power that I have, the smile that I have, and also the sense that I am projecting for a reasonably old man a reasonably young, energetic personality. I feel very fortunate to have him as my dentist. I am immensely indebted to him, and every once in a while I say, you know, please don't retire. And so far he's assured me he has no interest in it, and I hope he never does.
